mono-xbuild software package provides MSBuild-compatible build system for Mono, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install mono-xbuild
mono-xbuild is installed in your system.
Make ensure the mono-xbuild package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep mono-xbuild *
You will get with mono-xbuild package name, version, architecture and description in a table
